So a JW child will always be better off than the child of an atheist/agnostic?
Huge generalisation.
I have been meaning to get hold of this book http://www.amazon.co.uk/Parenting-Beyond-Belief-Raising-Religion/dp/0814474268
below is a quote from a recent thread at the channel c forum that caught my attention.
it llustrates how the exit strategy for some awakened jws must include a religious alternative.
this particular individual is particularly concerned that jw children will become godless, upon learning that wt is not the only true religion.

i've had a very difficult 2 months since my uncle has died.
it is not becasue of his death, it just so happend to follow his death and that is the time line.. i've always been a strong woman, from little, i had to stand on my own two feet and not lean on anyone - and i that is how i tick.. each instance has hit me financially and has been piled high on my plate.
there have been days when i thought i should end it all and literally take my own life - if i had something quick at my disposal, i know i wouldn't be here now.
I am sorry Lou, that is a lot to deal with. I hope the new year is kinder to you.
although i'm a member of both the nasuwt & atl unions, i technically can't strike as i don't have a job at present, and although i have been invited by both unions to join in the demonstrations, i won't be rallying/protesting either as i have my 2 small children to look after.
however i am fully behind the strikes.. here's some info for those of you who aren't uk based and would like an overview of the situation.... .

Mummatron you have a PM.

firstly - haven't times changed - both sisters would likely have been dfd in times past... .
when men of science conclude that this normal process will no longer work and they suggest removing the organ and replacing it directly with an organ from another human, this is simply a shortcut.
By the way dozy, you have a PM.

there is an upcoming study article trying to encourage men to reach out.
in my cong there are more former elders and servants than current ones.
i was looking around the other day during a meeting and could only spot one young guy who is reaching out to be an ms. the 5 elders are now running mics.
We've had a couple of elders appointed in the past couple of years who wouldn't have made the grade 10 years ago. The average age is 60+.
after almost 2 years of being wrongfully disfellowshipped and over a year after finding this site....i am starting to read crisis of conscience.
i will not lie....i am a bit nervous as to what information i will find in the book.
i have a strong feeling that i will end up crying through most of it as i will start to see the truth about the "truth".
I actually found it quite uplifting overall but there were a couple of places I got angry (Mexico/Malawi springs to mind).
